User Account Configuration

A server address to a DocBrowser server containing the reports and forms file must be entered in the applications user configuration settings. Additionally the device id must be registered on the server and associated with a user account to enable posting of reports and forms directly to the server. Note that posting of reports and forms via e-mail does not require the device to be registered on the server. The iReForm app will automatically inherit any existing connection settings in use by the iDocBrowser or iFlyThere apps.

Form Selection

Select the desired form from the Reports and Forms list shown by pressing the button in top left corner while holding the iPad in portrait orientation or directly accessible on the left hand side of the screen while holding the iPad in landscape orientation. In addition to selecting empty forms any partially filled form saved as a draft may be selected. If an Internet connection is available when launching the iReForm application it will automatically connect to the assigned server and check for an updated forms data file.

Fill out a report or form

Form fields can be either mandatory or optional. Form fields can also contain restrictions on the allowable content. Any incomplete or incorrectly filled out field will be highlighted using a light red background. Some fields will have a plus sign to the left. Pushing the plus sign present a list that can be used to populate the field with pre-stored values. Some fields visibility may be dependent on entries made in other fields.

Save a draft

Partially filled out forms may be saved as drafts. Saved draft forms are retrieved using the Reports and Forms menu.

Submit a Form

A prerequisite to submitting forms requiring submission via e-mail is that a mail account is configured on the iPad. For submission of forms via a direct server connection the user of the iPad must be registered on a DocBrowser Document Distribution Server and the appropriate user-information must be entered in the iReForm user settings. When a form is filled out it can be submitted by pressing the Send Form button found in the top right corner. When pressing this button either a mail with the corresponding report in PDF, CSV and/or XML-format as specified will be created or the report will be posted directly to the server. If a mail report is created the addressee and subject fields will be prepopulated. Pressing the send button sends this mail. If there is no Internet connectivity the mail will be queued in the outbox until connectivity is restored. Any form requiring posting directly to the server will be placed in the “Pending” folder and sent when the iReForm is started with an available Internet connection. Local notifications are used to remind the user when there are forms pending submission. Submitted forms are available for later review and may also be exported in PDF format to other applications.

Open Form via URL

The iReForm app can be launched via a link from a web-page, mail or another app using the [ireform://form-id] URL-scheme.
